Toprak Razgatlioglu Dominates Magny-Cours, Extends WorldSBK Lead

Toprak Razgatlioglu Dominates Magny-Cours, Extends WorldSBK Lead

BMW close gap to Ducati in manufacturers’ standings as Toprak claims triple victory.

BMW Motorrad Motorsport enjoyed a weekend to remember at Magny-Cours as Toprak Razgatlioglu delivered another stunning performance in Round 9 of the 2025 FIM Superbike World Championship (WorldSBK). The Turkish star claimed pole position, swept all three races for the fourth round in a row, and brought BMW its 50th victory in the series.

With 18 wins this season, 12 of them consecutive, Razgatlioglu now leads the riders’ standings by 39 points with three rounds remaining. His latest success cements his reputation as the man to beat, with BMW closing in on the manufacturers’ championship lead, now trailing Ducati by just three points.

Teammate Michael van der Mark also shone in France. Despite a heavy crash in Saturday’s race, the Dutchman bounced back to secure fifth place in both Sunday’s Superpole Race and the second main race, capping off a strong showing for the ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team.

BMW Motorrad Motorsport boss Sven Blusch hailed the result as a turning point: “This weekend has finally made us forget our mixed feelings about Magny-Cours last year. Toprak didn’t make a single mistake and is currently playing in a league of his own. I’m especially delighted for Mickey as well – his battles with Jonathan Rea and Alvaro Bautista showed the potential we have as a team.”

For Razgatlioglu, the dominant weekend was proof of both his form and the team’s hard work: “This is my favourite track and we did an incredible job in every race. The bike kept improving session by session, and this was all teamwork. I’m very happy with this BMW family. Now we focus on Aragón, and I want to win there too.”

The championship now heads to MotorLand Aragón, Spain, from September 26 to 28, where Razgatlioglu and BMW will look to continue their charge in both the riders’ and manufacturers’ battles.
