Spain reaffirmed its stranglehold on international trials competition with another commanding win at the 2025 Trial des Nations, extending an extraordinary run of success that now spans 21 consecutive victories.
Representing Spain, Toni Bou and Gabriel Marcelli of Repsol Honda Trial HRC, alongside teammate Jaime Busto, delivered a flawless performance over the rugged Italian course to finish ahead of Great Britain and host nation Italy. The triumph marks Spain’s 31st overall title in the prestigious team event and further cements their status as the sport’s dominant force.
Early Control and Relentless Execution
From the opening section, Spain set a pace no rival could match. The trio completed Lap 1 with 18 penalty points plus three for time, immediately establishing a commanding lead. On the second lap, Bou, Marcelli, and Busto tightened their grip by conceding just nine points, sealing another emphatic victory.
For Bou, the win adds to an unparalleled career tally: 20 Trial des Nations titles since first joining the Spanish squad. Marcelli, competing in the event for the third time, celebrated his third straight triumph, while Busto’s consistency rounded out a formidable team effort.
Next Stop: X-Trial World Championship
With Spain’s dominance reaffirmed in Tolmezzo, Bou and Marcelli now turn their attention to the 2026 X-Trial World Championship, which kicks off on October 4 in Andorra. After another masterclass on the world stage, the Repsol Honda riders will aim to carry their winning momentum into the new indoor season.
