Damon Motorcycles has taken a tangible step toward bringing its long-awaited Hypersport Race (HSR) electric superbike to life. The Canadian company announced that it has completed a full-scale clay model of the HSR, moving the project beyond the digital realm and into a physical form for the first time.
From Concept to Clay
The clay modelling process began in August and wrapped up in September, marking what Damon calls a “critical phase” in the bike’s development. According to CEO Dominique Kwong, the milestone enables the team to validate every curve and dimension of the design before advancing to the next stage.
Next Steps and Lingering Questions
With the clay model finished, Damon plans to begin building a working prototype for track testing and technology validation. However, the company has not provided a timeline for when testing might start or when the Hypersport Race could eventually reach customers.
Damon first burst onto the scene in 2019 with bold promises of the Hypersport and Hyperfighter electric motorcycles, but production delays have left early supporters still waiting for deliveries. The HSR, a track-focused evolution of the Hypersport platform, adds another ambitious project to the list.
A Bike Still Shrouded in Mystery
While the clay model signals progress, key details such as performance specs, pricing, and release dates remain unknown. For now, the Hypersport Race stands as a striking reminder of Damon’s vision for high-performance electric motorcycles, one step closer to reality, but still a work in progress.
