Marking a decade since the RS-GP’s debut in MotoGP, Aprilia has unveiled its most extreme creation yet, the RSV4 X-GP. Revealed last weekend during the Catalunya Grand Prix, this limited-edition superbike is infused with MotoGP-derived technology and aerodynamics, priced at €90,000 (about RM443,781). Only 30 units will be produced worldwide.

The RSV4 X-GP is the latest in Aprilia’s “X” series of exclusive track machines, following the RSV4 X (2019), Tuono X (2020), RSV4 X Trenta (2022), and RSV4 X Ex3ma (2024). Each model has pushed closer to prototype racing technology, but the X-GP represents the boldest leap yet.

MotoGP-Inspired Design

Borrowing heavily from the RS-GP25 MotoGP bike, the RSV4 X-GP features advanced aerodynamic components including front fairing wings, tail wings, and distinctive under-seat “leg wings.” Aprilia says these elements improve downforce significantly, delivering up to five times more vertical load on straights compared to the production RSV4, and triple the load while leaned over.

All bodywork, including the structural carbon seat support, is produced by Italian specialists PAN Compositi using lightweight “sandwich structure” carbon fiber. A full carbon fairing, SC-Project MotoGP-style exhaust, and RS-GP25-inspired livery complete the race-bred look.

Extreme Performance

At its heart, the RSV4 X-GP uses a 1,099cc 65° V4 engine tuned to Superbike specifications, producing 238 hp at 13,750 rpm and 131 Nm of torque. Upgrades include a Sprint racing air filter, reworked intake trumpets, higher compression pistons, and a dry STM clutch.

Electronics are managed by the APX Racing ECU, the same system used in WorldSBK, offering fully adjustable traction control, engine braking, power maps, anti-wheelie, GPS data logging, and factory-style software support. Buyers even receive a dedicated laptop preloaded with the management system.

The chassis is equally race-focused, with Öhlins pressurised FKR forks, a TTX rear shock, Brembo GP4-MS billet calipers, and 330mm T-Drive discs. Forged magnesium Marchesini wheels are shod with Pirelli WorldSBK slicks.

Exclusivity and Collectibility

Each RSV4 X-GP will be individually numbered and delivered with a suite of paddock accessories including tyre warmers, stands, a bike cover, and even an NFT certificate of authenticity. Owners will also enjoy a VIP trip to Aprilia’s Noale factory to collect their machine.

“This is certainly a unique, beautiful, and extremely intriguing product capable of providing special sensations,” said Massimo Rivola, Aprilia Racing CEO. “It is a product for a select few which houses all of Aprilia Racing’s passion, technology, and artisanal love for racing.”

With just 30 examples available globally, the RSV4 X-GP offers a rare chance for collectors and track-day enthusiasts to own a machine closer to a MotoGP prototype than anything else on sale today.
