The Pata Maxus Yamaha WorldSBK Team heads to MotorLand Aragón for Round 10 of the 2025 FIM Superbike World Championship (26–28 September). Riders Andrea Locatelli and Jonathan Rea are both ready to keep Yamaha’s recent momentum rolling. The Spanish venue is one of the most technical circuits on the calendar and promises a demanding weekend of racing and setup refinement.

Mastering a Unique Rollercoaster

MotorLand Aragón’s 5.077-kilometre layout is renowned for its elevation changes and challenging rhythm. The highest point of the circuit sits 50 metres above the start-finish straight, plunging riders down the steep “Corkscrew” at Turns 8 and 9 with a 7.2% gradient. Yamaha Rider Coach Eugene Laverty describes Aragón as a track where braking precision and bike stability are critical.

The Yamaha R1’s natural agility is an asset at Aragón. Electronics and chassis balance will be key to managing the long back straight and the tight final complex at Turn 15, the main overtaking hotspot.

Locatelli Eyes Top-Three Charge

Andrea Locatelli arrives with confidence after a string of strong results at Misano, Donington, and Balaton. Despite a difficult starting position in Magny-Cours, the Italian consistently showed top-five pace and continues to chase third in the championship.

Rea Ready to Build on Magny-Cours Speed

Six-time World Champion Jonathan Rea also comes into Aragón on the back of an encouraging performance in France. Though Yamaha missed the recent Aragón test, Rea is eager to find a quick rhythm and maximise Friday’s practice sessions.

Key Weekend Schedule

WorldSBK action begins on Friday with Free Practice 1 at 10:35 CEST and Free Practice 2 at 15:00. Race 1 takes place on Saturday at 14:00, followed by Sunday’s Superpole Race at 11:00 and Race 2 at 14:00.

With the championship entering its decisive phase, Pata Maxus Yamaha is poised to attack Aragón’s unique challenges. For Locatelli, the hunt for a career-best championship finish continues, while Rea aims to convert his growing pace into podium results.
