Round 12 of the 2025 MotoGP season marks a highly anticipated return to Automotodrom Brno, a legendary track absent from the calendar since 2020. Now freshly resurfaced, the Czechia GP reclaims its place as one of the most technical and beloved stops on the world championship tour.
Known for its flowing elevation changes, high-speed corners, and demanding braking zones, Brno has long tested both rider skill and machine balance. With 19 premier class wins since 1966, Honda has an enviable legacy at this circuit, and this weekend, the team looks to recapture that form.
Marini Builds Momentum
Luca Marini arrives in Brno riding high after achieving his best finish yet as a factory Honda HRC rider in Germany. Still recovering from injury, the Italian is taking a measured approach but sees this weekend as a chance to take another step forward with the RC213V.
“The result in Germany gives me a lot of motivation,” said Marini. “In Brno, I’m looking to increase the intensity of the weekend and perform like we were before. There’s still lots to do, but we’re moving in the right direction.”
Marini’s last experience at Brno was a fourth-place finish in the 2020 Moto2 race, and he hopes to build on that familiarity this weekend.
Mir Eyes Redemption
For Joan Mir, the Czechia GP represents an opportunity to turn the tide. Despite setbacks in recent rounds, the 2020 MotoGP World Champion has consistently shown flashes of his competitive spirit. The Spaniard previously tasted victory at Brno in 2017, en route to the Moto3 title.
“The new surface looks very good and offers a lot of grip,” Mir said. “A lot has changed since we were last here, so we’ll see how we go. I’ve been able to dig deep on Sundays even if the results haven’t come—and that keeps me motivated.”
Honda to Flip New Chapter at a Classic Venue
The return to Brno is more than just another race, it’s a nod to MotoGP’s rich past and a fresh challenge for the modern grid. As Honda HRC Castrol continues its rebuild, this iconic circuit could be the perfect setting for a turning point in the 2025 season.
All eyes will be on the Czech hills this weekend as the roar of MotoGP machines once again echoes through Brno.
