The 2025 AMA Pro Motocross Championship crossed the three-quarters mark at Washougal MX Park, where Jo Shimoda delivered a commanding performance to take his second overall win in the 250 class this season. Meanwhile, Jett Lawrence and Hunter Lawrence continued their consistent form in the 450 division, finishing second and fourth overall, respectively, as the championship enters a two-week break.
250 Class: Shimoda Dominates in the Trees
Washougal’s tight, shaded layout didn’t stop Jo Shimoda from showcasing exceptional race craft. After a seventh-place start in Moto 1, the Japanese rider quickly advanced to second by lap three and held that position to the finish. In Moto 2, Shimoda seized the lead early and built a massive 18-second advantage, securing the overall win with 2-1 scores. It marked his fifth career overall victory and cemented his role as the primary challenger to Haiden Deegan, who still leads the 250MX standings by 45 points.

450 Class: Jett’s Streak Ends, but Points Lead Grows
Jett Lawrence entered Washougal with a seven-race overall win streak in the 450 class. Though the streak came to an end, he still walked away with a strong second overall result. After a minor tip-over in Moto 1 cost him a shot at the lead, he finished third, then rebounded in Moto 2 by taking the win and securing valuable championship points.
Hunter Lawrence extended his top-five streak to 19 consecutive rounds, finishing fourth overall with 5-4 moto results. While neither Lawrence brother ranks Washougal among their favourite circuits due to its shaded, high-contrast terrain, both delivered solid performances that kept Honda HRC Progressive Racing in the spotlight.
