Retro-inspired ‘next-gen CB’ to be unveiled at the upcoming Suzuka 8 Hours endurance race with enhanced styling cues.

Honda has confirmed it will debut a new CB1000F SE Concept during the 2024 Suzuka 8 Hours endurance race, taking place from August 1 to 3. The SE model builds upon the CB1000F Concept previously shown at the Osaka Motorcycle Show in March, further reinforcing the brand’s vision of a “next generation CB” that blends classic design with modern performance.
According to motorcycle.com, the CB1000F SE Concept introduces a new headlight cowl, which Honda says “enhances the traditional proportions” of the original concept bike. While Honda has not officially confirmed any mechanical changes, teaser images show a silhouette nearly identical to the original CB1000F, suggesting the SE is more of a design refinement than a technical overhaul.
The original CB1000F Concept was based on the CB1000R platform, giving it a neo-retro aesthetic with updated hardware. During its unveiling, Honda also showcased several custom variants, including a race-themed version styled by Moriwaki Engineering, featuring a bellypan and small windscreen. The SE Concept appears to take a more subtle, in-house approach, but its existence further signals Honda’s intent to bring the CB1000F into production.
More details, including technical specifications and potential production plans—are expected to be revealed during the Suzuka 8 Hours weekend, one of Japan’s most prestigious motorcycle racing events.
As Honda continues to explore the balance between retro styling and cutting-edge performance, the CB1000F SE Concept could be one of the most exciting middleweight sport heritage bikes on the horizon. Stay tuned.
