The 2025 edition of FIM MiniGP Malaysia reaches its halfway point this weekend as Round 3 gets underway at the Tangkak Racing Circuit on July 26 and 27. Known for its fast and flowing corners, the Tangkak layout promises to test the bravery, skill, and racecraft of every young rider on the grid.
Rising Stars and New Talent on Track
The main events of the weekend include the FIM MiniGP Malaysia Championship and the SIC Ohvale Junior Championship. Both long-running platforms for grassroots motorsport talent since 2021. Adding to the action this year is the new RCB MiniMoto Championship. It debuted in Round 1 at Sepang International Kart Circuit and will make its Tangkak debut this weekend.
The MiniMoto category features riders as young as 6 to 9 years old, offering them a critical early exposure to competitive racing. This initiative serves as an important foundation for discovering and developing future national and regional motorcycle racing talent.
Who’s Racing This Weekend
- FIM MiniGP 190: 10 Malaysian riders
- FIM MiniGP 160: 16 riders (13 Malaysians, 1 Australian, 2 Indonesians)
- SIC Ohvale Junior Championship: 13 riders (11 Malaysians, 1 Indonesian, 1 Singaporean)

More Than Racing: Motoclinic for the Public
Round 3 will also host the Rakan Muda | Motoclinic: Ride, Learn & Discover program. Open to the public, this initiative offers participants a chance to learn motorcycle safety, proper riding techniques, and basic racing principles. Attendees will also get the opportunity to ride on the Tangkak Circuit under the guidance of professional riders.

This weekend’s race at Tangkak will be one of the most exciting rounds yet. Spectators can expect high-intensity action, tight battles, and a glimpse into the future of motorcycle racing in Malaysia and beyond.
