Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Tom Vialle delivered a gutsy ride at the Southwick National, claiming second overall and climbing to third in the 250MX standings after Round 5 of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship. Despite an early crash in Moto 1, the French rider fought through the pack twice to secure double third-place finishes and his third outdoor podium of the season.

“I made it tough in Moto 1 with a fall on the first lap, but the speed was good all day. We’re improving, and it’s great to be back on the podium,” Vialle says.

Vialle’s Resilience Shines in the Sand

The dual MX2 World Champion showed speed from the outset, qualifying second on his KTM 250 SX-F FACTORY EDITION. A crash in the early stages of Moto 1 dropped him to outside the top 10, but he clawed back to P3 with impressive determination. In Moto 2, Vialle stayed clean and consistent, matching his earlier result to lock in second overall on the day and climb within 21 points of second in the championship.

Challenging Day for Beaumer

Teammate Julien Beaumer struggled to find form on Southwick’s deep sand. After qualifying seventh, the young American finished 18th and 22nd in the motos, resulting in 21st overall and a slip to 13th in the standings.

“That was a really tough day. I’ve got to improve on softer tracks, but I’m looking ahead to RedBud with a fresh mindset,” saysBeaumer.

Plessinger Battles to Seventh Overall in 450M

In the premier class, Aaron Plessinger started strong with a P4 finish in Moto 1, but a crash while running in the top five in Moto 2 dropped him to eighth, leaving him seventh overall, his first finish outside the top five this season. Still, the consistent Red Bull KTM rider holds fourth in the 450MX standings, just nine points off third.

“That crash took a lot out of me, but we’ll bounce back. RedBud is always a good race for me.”

Next Stop: RedBud – July 5

The Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team now turns its attention to RedBud, Michigan on July 5, where all three riders will aim to convert lessons learned from Southwick into momentum at one of the sport’s most iconic venues.
