The 2025 TrialGP World Championship hits a critical juncture this weekend as the series lands in Corsica for Round 4, marking the halfway point of the season. While the Mediterranean island has hosted the event before in L’Île-Rousse, the picturesque town of Calvi is set to make its debut on the championship calendar, adding fresh terrain and challenges for the world’s best trials riders.
Bou Eyes Fifth Straight Win on Unfamiliar Terrain
Repsol Honda’s Toni Bou enters Calvi at the top of the standings with 241 points, thanks to a flawless run of four consecutive wins across Portugal and Japan. Despite the unfamiliar setting, the 34-time World Champion remains composed and focused:
“We’re in good shape, although we can’t let our guard down. Calvi is a new venue for everyone, but the goal remains the same: score maximum points and stay consistent.”
Bou’s dominance is rooted not only in technical mastery but also in his unmatched ability to adapt to new conditions—skills that will be tested once again on the rocky Corsican terrain.

Marcelli Looks to Close the Gap
Bou’s teammate Gabriel Marcelli, currently third in the championship, is also poised to make waves in Corsica. Riding the Montesa Cota 4RT, Marcelli has been steadily building momentum, with podium finishes in Japan suggesting he’s ready to challenge the top step.
“Calvi is completely new, and that levels the playing field. I’m feeling confident and want to push for victory in every race this weekend,” Marcelli shared.
With four races scheduled over the weekend, it’s a golden opportunity for Marcelli to chip away at the points gap and cement his place as a title contender.
Team Manager Confident Ahead of Calvi Debut
Team Manager Takahisa Fujinami expressed satisfaction with the season’s progress while acknowledging the unknowns of the new venue.
“Calvi is a challenge, no doubt. But with Toni’s experience and Gabri’s current form, we’re confident in both riders. Focus and adaptability will be crucial.”

What’s Ahead in the Corsica TrialGP
The weekend kicks off on Friday with scrutineering, course inspections, and training. Competition begins Saturday at 9:00 a.m. and resumes Sunday with the same schedule. With unpredictable terrain and a new venue shaking up the order, Calvi could be the most pivotal round yet.
As the championship reaches its midpoint, the stakes are higher than ever. Can Bou extend his lead, or will the Corsican cliffs crown a new winner?
One thing is certain: TrialGP Calvi promises high drama and world-class competition in one of Europe’s most stunning backdrops.
