Rising Malaysian MotoGP talent Hakim Danish briefly returned home on 18 May after an intense two-month stretch of racing and testing across Europe, before departing again for Spain on 27 May to gear up for Round 2 of the FIM JuniorGP World Championship.
Since 23 March, Danish has taken part in both the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup and the FIM JuniorGP Championship, participating in a total of five races across official and private test sessions. Demonstrating consistency and determination, he secured second-place finishes in every race, a strong testament to his growing competitiveness on the international stage.
Now back in Europe, the 17-year-old is set to compete at the iconic Circuito de Jerez from 31 May to 2 June. The 4.42km Spanish track, with eight right-handers, five left-handers, and a 607-metre straight, holds positive memories for Danish, who clinched P2 in both races there during the opening round of the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup earlier this season.
Accompanying Danish for this critical round is SIC Racing-MSI Team Manager, Zulfahmi Khairuddin, who left for Spain on Tuesday, 27 May. His presence is expected to strengthen team communication and provide crucial support from pit to paddock.
“This week marks the FIM JuniorGP round at the Jerez Circuit,” said Zulfahmi. “Last year, Danish finished eighth here. But this time, with better preparation including a private test before he flew home, we are aiming for a podium. We’ll also keep a close eye on Brian Uriarte, aiming to match and surpass his pace during the race.”
Round 2 of the JuniorGP will feature two races on Sunday, both of which will be streamed live on the official JuniorGP YouTube and Facebook channels.
