Bulega Seals Thrilling Victory in Czech Round Race-2 After Nail-Biting Duel with Razgatlioglu down the chequered flag.

Nicolò Bulega (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati) delivered a race for the ages in WorldSBK’s Czech Round Race-2, snatching victory by a mere 0.027 seconds after a relentless battle with Toprak Razgatlioglu (BMW).

The Italian’s tactical brilliance shone as he reclaimed the lead in a last-corner stunner, while reigning champion Alvaro Bautista’s race ended abruptly after a first-corner collision involving Jonathan Rea (Yamaha).

Race of Inches: Bulega vs. Razgatlioglu

Starting second, Bulega seized the lead early and fended off Razgatlioglu’s relentless pressure for 14 laps. The Turkish star, dominant in Race-1, briefly overtook but couldn’t shake Bulega, who bided his time before executing a dramatic final-lap pass to clinch Ducati’s 450th WorldSBK win by a photo finish. With this victory, Bulega extends his championship lead to 31 points over Razgatlioglu.

Controversy at Turn 1: Bautista Taken Out by Rea

Bautista’s hopes evaporated instantly when Rea, later penalised with a double long-lap penalty, made contact, sending the Spaniard crashing. The incident also involved Honda’s Xavi Vierge, who suffered a heavier fall.

Bulega’s Triumph: “I think it was my best win in Superbike. The weekend started with the bad crash in FP1 and the widespread pain I had to deal with again today. Compared to Race 1, though, after Toprak overtook me, I could stick to him and prepare the final attack. I thank my team for their great job over the last few days, and I can’t wait to be at Misano in front of so many Italian fans”.

Bautista’s Frustration: “There is little to say. We’ve often talked in Safety Commission about how important it was not to make risky manoeuvres at turn one. The fact that the contact was caused by Johnny, who is not exactly a rookie in this championship, saddens me even more. Luckily, I wasn’t hurt, and at the same time, I feel sorry for Vierge, who was worse off”.

The championship now shifts to Misano (June 14–16), where Bulega aims to defend his lead before a home crowd.
