Bulega Dominates Cremona Weekend as Ducati Extends Championship Lead

Nicolò Bulega enjoyed a flawless weekend, securing a hat-trick of victories in front of his home crowd in Italy and reinforcing his lead in the championship standings.

Nicolò Bulega delivered a masterclass performance at Cremona Circuit, completing a perfect weekend sweep for the Aruba.it Racing – Ducati team in Round 4 of the 2025 WorldSBK championship.

The Italian phenom followed his Saturday Superpole and Race 1 victories with commanding wins in both Sunday’s Superpole Race and Race 2, extending his championship lead to 34 points over Toprak Razgatlioglu (BMW).

Bulega’s flawless ride on the Panigale V4R showcased his growing maturity as a title contender. “I came here worried – this isn’t my favorite circuit,” admitted the #11 rider. “But my team gave me incredible confidence from Friday onward. To win in front of this passionate Italian crowd makes it extra special.”

Teammate Álvaro Bautista overcame early technical issues to secure double podiums, finishing third in both Sunday races. The Spaniard’s consistent results move him to third in the standings, though he acknowledged the pace gap to the frontrunners. “We maximized our potential this weekend,” Bautista noted. “The bike feeling improves every round – we’ll be stronger at Most.”

Ducati is currently leading the constructors’ standings with a significant 190 points. BMW holds the second position with 137 points, while Yamaha is in third place with 117 points. Ducati’s strong performance is evident in their dominance across both the riders’ and constructors’ standings, highlighting their success this season.

The factory Ducati squad now prepares for Round 5 at Autodrom Most (16-18 May), where Bulega will aim to further solidify his championship position. With the Panigale V4R demonstrating superior pace at varied circuits, the Italian’s title credentials appear stronger than ever. 

As WorldSBK heads to the Czech Republic, Ducati’s dominant Cremona performance sends a clear message to rivals – the Bologna bullets have found their rhythm, and Bulega is emerging as the man to beat in this year’s championship battle.
