Motorists in the Klang Valley should brace for significant traffic disruptions as authorities implement multiple-phased road and highway closures from today until Thursday for Chinese President Xi Jinping’s official state visit to Malaysia.
Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department director Comm Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri confirmed that the closures will affect 17 major roads. Authorities will enforce full closures and diversions, each lasting between 30 to 45 minutes, to allow the high-level delegation to pass smoothly.
“These closures are necessary for security and escort arrangements. We will reopen the roads as soon as the delegation clears each route,” he said.
The police have assigned 378 personnel to handle escort duties and manage traffic throughout the visit.
