Pirelli is introducing a new E0126 specification rear slick tyre for the Dutch Round of the FIM Superbike World Championship at Assen, alongside the return of the E0158 development wet front tyre. The E0126 represents the latest evolution of the supersoft compound, designed to enhance grip while maintaining consistent performance over long race distances.

Riders in the WorldSBK class will have two rear supersoft options: the standard SCX and the new E0126. Additionally, the extra soft SCQ rear tyre, a favourite for qualifying and the Superpole Race will be available for the first time this season.

In wet conditions, riders will have access to both the standard SCR1 rain tyre and the E0158 development front, which was unused in Portimão due to dry weather.

This weekend also marks the season opener for the FIM Women’s Circuit Racing World Championship (WorldWCR), where Pirelli supplies DIABLO Superbike tyres in the SC1 compound for both front and rear. The Northern Talent Cup, another series making its 2024 debut, will use SC2 compound tyres.

Giorgio Barbier, Pirelli’s Motorcycle Racing Director, highlighted the significance of the E0126’s introduction, noting its improved grip and consistency. “The one used by the E0126 is in fact the same casing as the soft E0125, which we introduced in Portimão where it was widely accepted as it was the most used compound in all three races of the weekend.”

“In addition to the casing, this new supersoft also differs from the standard SCX in terms of the compound, which has been developed to further increase consistency of performance over distance,” he added.

He also emphasized the SCQ’s reliability for short races and qualifying, while acknowledging Assen’s unpredictable weather as a potential test for the untested E0158 wet tyre.
