Motosikal dan Enjin Nasional Sdn. Bhd. (MODENAS), a subsidiary of DRB-HICOM Berhad has launched the facelifted Elegan 250 EX, featuring refreshed styling and subtle enhancements while retaining its proven 250cc powertrain.

The updated model now comes in two new colour options which are Deep Blue and Plain Grey, along with a darker front windscreen, LED turn signals, and the latest Modenas branding on key components, including the meter panel, key holder, and rear fender. Despite these cosmetic changes, the mechanical package remains unchanged from the 2023 version.

Powering the Elegan 250 EX is a 249.1cc SOHC single-cylinder engine with fuel injection, delivering 22 hp at 7,000 rpm and 22.4 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. Chassis and braking components carry over, including 14-inch front and 13-inch rear wheels wrapped in 120/80 and 150/70 tyres, respectively. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks up front and dual shock absorbers at the rear, while braking is managed by disc brakes on both ends with dual-channel ABS as standard.

The Euro 4-compliant scooter also has practical features such as a USB charging port, projector headlights, LED taillights, and under-seat storage remain intact. The scooter tips the scales at 195 kg (kerb weight).

Priced at RM17,780, the 2024 Elegan 250 EX sees a modest increase from its previous RM16,997 tag. MODENAS backs the scooter with a two-year or 20,000 km warranty.

The facelift reinforces MODENAS’ commitment to refreshing its lineup while maintaining affordability in Malaysia’s mid-size scooter segment.
