Ola Electric Mobility Ltd launched the Roadster X and Roadster X+ electric motorcycles on February 5, 2025. Founder Bhavish Aggarwal and head designer Kripa Ananthan led the event, marking a key milestone for the company. Ola Electric aims to revolutionize the electric two-wheeler market in India and beyond. This launch follows the debut of Ola Electric’s Gen 3 S1 electric scooter range on January 31, 2025. The company continues expanding its electric vehicle lineup.

The Roadster X and Roadster X+ target diverse riders with performance, range, and advanced technology. The Roadster X offers 2.5 kWh, 3.5 kWh, and 4.5 kWh battery variants. It delivers a range of up to 252 km per charge, reaches a top speed of 118 kph, and has a peak power output of 7 kW.

The Roadster X+ features 4.5 kWh and 9.1 kWh battery options. The 9.1 kWh model delivers an impressive 501 km range per charge, with a peak power output of 11 kW. It accelerates from 0 to 40 kph in just 3.1 seconds.

The Roadster series features a 4.3-inch color LED screen that displays vital ride data. All-LED lighting enhances visibility and styling. An integrated Motorcycle Control Unit ensures seamless performance. Ola RideOS 5 powers the latest operating system for Ola’s electric vehicles. A single-channel Brake-by-Wire ABS improves braking efficiency. Cruise control enhances long-distance comfort, while reverse mode helps maneuver in tight spaces.

Ola Electric has competitively priced the Roadster models with introductory discounts. The Roadster X starts at ₹89,999 (approx. RM4,556.87) for the 2.5 kWh variant, ₹99,999 (approx. RM5,063.20) for the 3.5 kWh variant, and ₹1,09,999 (approx. RM5,569.39) for the 4.5 kWh variant. The Roadster X+ is priced at ₹1,19,999 (approx. RM6,075.70) for the 4.5 kWh model and ₹1,69,999 (approx. RM8,607.74) for the 9.1 kWh variant. An introductory discount of ₹15,000 (approx. RM759.51) applies to all models. Orders open on February 5, 2025, with deliveries starting mid-March 2025.

Ola Electric has introduced Flat Cable technology, reducing the wiring harness weight from 4 kg to 800 grams.

The system uses standardized connectors made in India, eliminating imported parts and improving durability. The Roadster X series features Brake-by-Wire, enhancing efficiency. The system increases range by 15 percent and doubles brake pad life. Regenerative braking helps recover energy during deceleration.

The Roadster X and X+ launch boosted Ola Electric’s stock. Shares rose 1.07 percent to ₹75.67 (approx. RM3.83) on the Bombay Stock Exchange. Analysts believe the new models will strengthen Ola’s market position. Concerns remain about after-sales service and potential sell-offs post-lock-in periods.

The Ola Roadster X and Roadster X+ push the boundaries of electric motorcycles. With great range, cutting-edge features, and competitive pricing, they appeal to a broad audience. Ola Electric’s focus on innovation, including Flat Cable and Brake-by-Wire technologies, strengthens its EV leadership. As deliveries start in March 2025, the Roadster series is set to redefine electric motorcycling in India and beyond.
