Motosikal & Enjin Nasional Sdn Bhd (Modenas), a subsidiary of DRB-HICOM Bhd, made waves at Sepang International Circuit as it officially handed over the first 100 units of the highly anticipated 2024 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R to their proud owners. The grand event took place at Paddock 1 on Thursday, February 13, marking a major milestone for Kawasaki’s resurgence in Malaysia under Modenas.

Leading the handover ceremony was Yusaku Kashiwagi, Chief Marketing Officer of Modenas, who personally presented the keys to the excited buyers. “This is not just a bike delivery. This is the moment Kawasaki is fulfilling the passion of its fans who love performance and pure adrenaline. The Ninja ZX-6R is built for those who crave speed and precision, and today, our customers get to experience that firsthand on the legendary Sepang track,” said Kashiwagi.

The new owners wasted no time in putting their machines to the test, taking to the Sepang Circuit for an exclusive first ride, an experience that perfectly showcased the ZX-6R’s track-ready performance.

The overwhelming demand for the 2024 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R has exceeded expectations. When pre-bookings opened in November 2024, Modenas initially allocated 50 units for early buyers. However, due to the unprecedented response, the allocation was doubled to 100 units, selling out in record time.

The 2024 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R is powered by a 636cc inline-four engine, delivering an adrenaline-pumping combination of smooth acceleration and high-revving performance. It comes packed with advanced features, including:

  • Quick Shifter
  • Three-mode Traction Control (KTRC)
  • Multiple Power Modes
  • Showa Separate Function Big Piston Forks (SFF-BP)
  • 4.3” TFT Display with smartphone connectivity
  • Unbeatable Price for a 600cc Track-Ready Supersport

One of the biggest surprises is the price tag. The 2024 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R is available at RM59,900, a significant drop from the previous 2018 model’s RM79,900 price. This massive price reduction is thanks to local assembly (CKD) at Modenas’ Gurun, Kedah plant, making the ZX-6R an unbeatable value in the mid-weight supersport category.

“This model is built for the track, but it’s also ready to dominate the streets. At this price point, the Ninja ZX-6R is the ultimate supersport machine for riders who want the best of both worlds,” Kashiwagi added.

With its aggressive styling, cutting-edge electronics, and price that makes high-performance riding more accessible than ever, the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R is set to redefine the mid-weight supersport segment in Malaysia.
