In a landmark moment for motorsport, Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) has unveiled the Honda HRC Castrol team, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter in the 2025 MotoGP World Championship. This partnership between Honda and Castrol, two giants in the world of motorsport, brings together decades of shared success and a shared vision for the future of motorcycle racing. The team’s debut in Indonesia signals Honda’s unwavering commitment to reclaiming its position at the pinnacle of Grand Prix racing.

A Legacy of Excellence with Honda

Honda’s history in MotoGP is nothing short of legendary. With 25 premier class Constructors’ World Championships, 21 Riders’ World Championships, and an astounding 313 premier class race wins, Honda has consistently set the benchmark for excellence in motorcycle racing. The collaboration with Castrol, a brand synonymous with performance and innovation, further strengthens Honda’s resolve to dominate the sport once again.

Castrol’s involvement is not just a sponsorship; it’s a technical partnership that will see the company provide cutting-edge lubricants, fuels, and technical support. This collaboration will leverage the extreme conditions of MotoGP racing to test and develop next-generation motorbike lubricants, pushing the boundaries of performance and innovation.

A New Era Begins

The 2025 season marks the dawn of a new era for Honda in MotoGP. The Honda HRC Castrol team will feature a formidable rider lineup, with double World Champion Joan Mir and six-time Grand Prix winner Luca Marini leading the charge. Both riders have been instrumental in the recent development of the Honda RC213V, and their continued efforts will be crucial in Honda’s quest to return to the top of the championship standings.

Joan Mir, entering his third season with Honda, brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success. The Spaniard, who claimed two World Championships before the age of 25, is now the most experienced Honda rider on the grid. With a two-year contract extension in hand, Mir is poised to take another significant step in his career. This would further solidify his legacy as one of the sport’s greats.

Luca Marini, entering his second year with Honda, has shown remarkable growth and technical acumen since joining the team. The 27-year-old Italian demonstrated his potential throughout the 2024 season, steadily improving his results and providing invaluable feedback to the development team. As he enters the 2025 season, Marini is well-positioned to play a pivotal role in Honda’s ongoing development and success.

Expanding the Test Team
