Aveta Malaysia has officially launched the Vanguard 250, a bold new addition to the adventure scooter category, combining the versatility of an adventure bike with the practicality of a touring vehicle.

The Vanguard 250 is built on the Piaggio Nexus 250 platform and features a Bosch electronic fuel injection system. Prior to its public release, the scooter underwent over 20,000 kilometres of testing across Malaysia’s diverse terrains, including rugged roads and highways, ensuring reliability and adaptability.

Powering the Vanguard 250 is a 244.2cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that delivers 24.8 horsepower at 8,500 rpm and 22.5 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. This performance is managed through a CVT transmission and belt drive.

Two variants of the Aveta Vanguard 250 are available: the Standard and Special Edition (SE), both equipped with dual-channel ABS and traction control for enhanced safety. The key differences between the two lie in their suspension setups, braking systems, and additional features.

The Standard variant comes with 33 mm front telescopic forks and twin rear shock absorbers, ensuring a smooth ride. Its braking system includes a 260 mm front disc with a floating calliper and a 240 mm rear disc. The Standard model rides on 14-inch front and 13-inch rear wheels, fitted with 120/70 and 140/60 tyres, respectively.

The Special Edition (SE), on the other hand, is designed for superior performance, featuring 37 mm front forks and rear twin shock absorbers with remote gas reservoirs. Its braking setup is upgraded with an opposed four-piston calliper at the front and a two-piston calliper at the rear while maintaining the same disc sizes. The SE rolls on larger 15-inch front and 14-inch rear wheels, fitted with 120/70 and 140/70 tyres for better stability and handling.

Additional features make the SE stand out, including a 7-inch TFT-LCD display with smartphone mirroring via the Aveta app, tyre pressure monitoring, and a front DVR recorder. In contrast, the Standard variant features a simpler monochrome LCD display.

Both models are equipped with a 13-litre fuel tank, ergonomic seating, and a spacious 23.5-litre under-seat storage compartment, making them suitable for long-distance adventures. With 160 mm of ground clearance and a seat height of 780 mm, the Vanguard 250 offers a balance of practicality and comfort, catering to a broad range of riders.

The Standard variant is available in Nano Grey and is priced at RM14,888, while the SE comes in Majestic Green and Titanium Grey at RM16,388. Both prices exclude insurance and road tax but come with a two-year or 20,000 km warranty. As an introductory offer, the first 200 units will be priced at RM14,488 for the Standard and RM15,988 for the SE.

The Vanguard 250 launch marks a significant milestone for Aveta Malaysia, reinforcing its presence in the local motorcycle market. Roadshows are scheduled to begin in March 2025, providing enthusiasts with an opportunity to test-ride the scooter. Further updates on these events will be available on Aveta Malaysia’s official Facebook page.
