Following the release of the Svartpilen 801 earlier this year, Husqvarna has officially unveiled the Vitpilen 801, adding a street-focused option to its lineup.
Like its scrambler-style sibling, the Vitpilen 801 shares the same powerful 799cc LC8c parallel-twin engine that powers the KTM 790 Duke, CFMoto 800NK, and 800MT. This new model delivers a fresh, dynamic roadster experience to Husqvarna’s “white arrow” range, bringing an exciting new option to the segment.
The Vitpilen 801’s engine boasts impressive performance, producing 105 horsepower at 9,250 rpm and 87 Nm of torque at 8,000 rpm. The engine features a semi-dry-sump lubrication system and active crankcase evacuation, allowing for long service intervals of up to 15,000 km.
Power is delivered through a 6-speed manual transmission, and riders can select from three preset riding modes—Street, Sport, and Rain—plus a customizable Dynamic mode, all designed to enhance the bike’s adaptability to various road conditions.
Husqvarna has equipped the Vitpilen 801 with an array of modern rider aids, including Easy Shift, cornering ABS, and cornering Motorcycle Traction Control (MTC). These features, combined with advanced WP Apex suspension, provide riders with exceptional control and comfort in all riding situations.
The Vitpilen’s ‘chrome-molybdenum’ chassis, shared with the Svartpilen 801, ensures a lightweight yet sturdy frame for optimal performance on the road.
Available in two colour options, the key highlight of this Vitpilen 801 is its revamped headlight design. Inspired by sister brand KTM and models like the 990 Duke, the headlight is a bi-LED projector unit that appears to “float” within a ring of LED running lights.
This is a departure from the traditional circular lamps seen on other models, and it’s framed by a daytime running light (DRL), giving the bike a fresh, distinctive appearance.
Additionally, the Vitpilen 801 is equipped with a 5-inch TFT display, similar to the Svartpilen’s, with an optically bonded mineral glass screen that reduces glare and enhances readability in various lighting conditions.
The TFT display also connects to smartphones via the Ride Husqvarna Motorcycles app, allowing for turn-by-turn navigation, phone calls, and music control.
Set to arrive in Europe by November 2024, the Vitpilen 801 continues Husqvarna’s tradition of combining cutting-edge performance with minimalist design, bringing yet another sleek and powerful roadster to the market.
