Last year, SWM introduced the Stormbreaker, which is gaining attention in the motorcycle world. Now, the company is developing a chopper variant. SWM, with its nickname the “Harley-Davidson of China,” features similar styling to the top gun. The new chopper, internally designated as XY1200-B, is already generating buzz.

Design and Features

The new chopper will feature a high handlebar and a 21-inch front wheel. This design choice is reminiscent of Harley-Davidson’s Softail models. The rear suspension will be similar to the Stormbreaker, with dual shock absorbers for a smooth ride.

The engine will be the same as in the Stormbreaker: a 1,200 cc V-twin. This engine delivers 61 horsepower and meets Euro 5 emissions standards. The chopper will reach a top speed of 165 km/h. The wheelbase is extended by 40 millimetres, bringing it to 1,535 millimetres. This extension should improve stability and comfort for long-distance rides.

Market Prospects and Availability

The 2024 SWM Stormbreaker is already available in Europe for about 10,000 euros. The release date for the chopper variant is still unknown. However, its Euro 5 compliance makes it fully compatible with the European market. We expect the new chopper to appeal to riders who love classic designs with modern performance.

SWM’s move into the chopper segment shows its commitment to expanding its lineup. The new XY1200-B will likely attract both loyal customers and new buyers. As SWM continues to develop this chopper, excitement is building among motorcycle enthusiasts.
