The inaugural Kazakhstan Grand Prix Sokol has been officially cancelled and replaced by a second MotoGP round at Misano this September.
Originally scheduled to debut in 2023, the Sokol event faced delays due to the circuit not being ready in time. Despite rescheduling efforts for July this year, flooding in the area further postponed the race. With hopes to replace the cancelled Indian GP in September, uncertainties from local organizers led MotoGP to cancel the Kazakhstan event entirely.
This marks the third cancellation of the season, following India and Argentina, reducing the calendar from 22 to 20 events.
In place of Kazakhstan, MotoGP announced a second Grand Prix at Misano. The San Marino GP will take place from September 6th to 8th, followed by another event on September 20th to 22nd.
