In the premier WorldSBK category, the spotlight is on the newest entrant, the Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade. In January, the Fireblade completed homologation, now set for competition in both standard (ST) and SP versions. It’s the only change to the WorldSBK homologation lineup for the upcoming season; other manufacturers maintain the status quo.
Turning attention to the broader paddock, several other machines have received the FIM’s stamp of approval for the 2024 season.
In January 2024, the Honda CBR600RR, coded PC40 for Asia and PC69 for Europe, completed homologation. The MV Agusta F3 800 RR M.U. and F3 Superveloce M.U. secured homologations in the previous December, gearing up for their competitive debut.
Triumph enthusiasts will rejoice as the Street Triple 765 RS, identified by model code HJ8, successfully undergoes homologation in January. It’s worth noting that this model was previously listed under the model code HJ7. Yamaha’s YZF-R7 has also received homologation for SSP 600/NG (Phase 1 only), signaling the FIM’s endorsement for its inclusion in a national series hosted by its National Federations.
Exciting developments await in the WorldSSP300 category as the Kawasaki Ninja 400 awaits Phase 1 completion for an extension of its homologation. Simultaneously, the Kove 321 RR-S (model code P310) is poised for homologation in both Phase 1 and Phase 2. Yamaha successfully homologated the YZF-R3 with model code YZF-R3 320 in October 2023, replacing its previous model code, YZF-R3/ABS.
The 2024 homologated machines are setting the stage for an intense season. They showcase the latest in motorcycle technology and the prowess of top riders.
