As the Grand Prix Motorcycle World Championship gears up for its 19th round, all eyes turn to the Lusail International Circuit in Qatar for what promises to be a captivating weekend of racing from November 17 to 19. This marks a significant departure from tradition, as the Qatar GP has been the customary season opener since 2007. However, for the current season, it takes centre stage as the penultimate round before the closing race in Valencia next week.

Since 2008, the QatarGP’s iconic night race has been a fan favorite in the MotoGP calendar. The 5.38 km-long Lusail International Circuit features 10 right turns and 6 left turns. This year, the circuit promises an exciting spectacle with its recent repaving. Expect intense competition for World Champion titles in the Moto3 and MotoGP categories.

One rider looking for redemption at Lusail is Damok, who faced disappointment at the Malaysian GP. Eager to regain focus and deliver an improved performance, Damok sets his sights on understanding the circuit quickly. He aims to fine-tune his machine setup and secure valuable race points.

“With two more races remaining, I arrive in Qatar with the same goal. I want to focus, be competitive in the race, and earn race points. With this newly resurfaced track, my team and I need to understand the conditions as early as Friday. We’ll see what needs to be done. The race at my home circuit last week didn’t go as I expected. So, I need to keep looking forward and do my best for myself, the team, and all those who always support me.”

Adding to the excitement, the final round of the Idemitsu Asia Talent Cup (ATC) unfolds this week. Unfortunately, Farres Putra will sit out due to an injury sustained in a crash during ATC Race 1 at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit last week.

Despite this setback, riders Farish Hafiy, Farres Putra, and Adi Putra are determined to showcase their best in the closing race. The trio is keen on ensuring a competitive showdown on the track.

The Moto3 race at the Qatar GP is scheduled for Sunday at 10 pm, featuring 18 laps of intense competition. Meanwhile, the ATC race kicks off with Race 1 on Saturday at 10 pm. Race 2 follows on Sunday, both spanning 12 laps.

As the season reaches its climax in the radiant lights of the Lusail International Circuit, fans can expect nothing short of thrilling battles and unforgettable moments on the road to crowning the champions in this exhilarating motorsport spectacle.
