Get ready for an exciting weekend at Stadium Batu Kawan as the PETRONAS Malaysian Cub Prix Championship returns for its tenth round.
Racing enthusiasts are in for a treat as the competition hits its peak, with Ahmad Afif Amran from the PETRONAS Sprinta Yamaha – CKJ Racing team and Azroy Hakeem Anuar from the Honda Yuzy Estremo Racing team battling for the coveted second spot, holding 139 and 128 overall points, respectively.
Azroy Hakeem Anuar, upbeat after a successful morning of free practice and qualifying, said, “Today went well; I was in the top 2 in free practice and qualifying 1.
Now, we have one more session, qualifying 2, to combine the overall. My bike feels good, just a bit of fine-tuning.
Afif and I have our strengths; it’s about seizing opportunities. Tomorrow’s race is crucial, aiming for second place overall.
I need to work hard, stay consistent, especially in tricky corners like turn 1 and the second turn, a tight ‘S’ corner. For the 20 laps tomorrow, I have to be consistent and avoid mistakes.”
Reflecting on the upcoming round, Ahmad Afif Amran shared, “No changes to the bike’s engine or suspension.
Maintaining what works. Having a teammate like Akid at Batu Kawan helps with strategic planning. Discussing with teammates and mechanics to fine-tune the bike.
My goal for the tenth round is a strong performance, improving my overall standings. The competition is tough; every rider will give their all, especially in this final round.
Weight might be an advantage for some, but I faced difficulties early in the season. Thankfully, my performance improved steadily from mid-season.”
As the championship heads into the last round, tension builds, and racers gear up for an intense battle. With each rider giving their best, the PETRONAS Malaysian Cub Prix Championship promises a thrilling conclusion to the season.
Stay tuned for the action-packed race weekend at Stadium Batu Kawan as these skilled riders navigate challenges and vie for glory in the tenth round.
