Damon HyperSport and HyperFighter to be rolled out in Indonesia

In a bid to commit to its carbon-neutral mission, more electric motorcycles will be available in Indonesia, including the Damon HyperSport and HyperFighter.

The electric motorcycle market is still growing in Malaysia but is very much the hype in neighbouring Indonesia.

Indonesia is currently quite active in promoting the electric motorcycle program in an effort to achieve carbon-neutral status by 2060.

More than 30 electric motorcycle models are available in the nation’s market as of 2022. We can expect an increase in that number further this year. That alone is enough to prove Indonesia’s commitment to realizing its carbon-neutral mission.

Indonesian conglomerate company, Indika Energy, has made a major investment in high-performance electric motorcycle manufacturer, Damon Motorcycles.

Although the investment figure has not been announced, we expect the amount to be quite large. The signed collaboration will also see Damon market its electric model in Indonesia.

For those who don’t know Indika Energy, the company is a coal mining giant and a leader in green energy in Indonesia. Indika Energy has introduced an electric mobility brand through Ilectra Motor Group (IMG).

Indonesia aims to have 2 million electric motorcycles on the road by 2050. This includes reducing annual carbon emissions by 29 per cent by 2030.
