Yamaha has introduced the Cygnus Gryphus 125 Monster Energy edition scooter in Japan.

The 125cc compact scooter made its debut last year and has garnered attention due to its sporty design despite its small size.

In conjunction with entering the new year 2023, Yamaha has updated the scooter with a selection of Monster Energy graphics. These graphics draws inspiration from the Yamaha MotoGP team’s YZR-M1 machine.

Apart from the graphics, there is also a Monster Energy Drink badge on the front panel.

For the record, the Yamaha Cygnus Gryphus comes with a redesigned frame, a new suspension system and wider tires (120/70-12 front and 130/70-12 rear).

Meanwhile, the 125cc single-cylinder engine now offers a 20 per cent increase in power compared to the previous model. It has 20 per cent more fuel economy thanks to the use of the VVA (Variable Valve Actuation) system.

As a result, a Yamaha Cygnus Gryphus 2022 offers 11.8hp at 8,000rpm and 9.8Nm at 6,000rpm.

The braking system is controlled by front and rear disc brakes, but this model does not have ABS.

The Yamaha Cygnus Gryphus Monster Energy edition is out now in Japan at a price of JPY368,500 (RM12.3k).
