It’s been three years since Harley-Davidson introduced its inaugural electric motorcycle via LiveWire.

The LiveWire name was later changed to an electric motorcycle brand under Harley-Davidson with the LiveWire motorcycle renamed the LiveWire One.

Soon, rumours surfaced that LiveWire would expand the company’s portfolio with new models inspired by ‘flat-track’ motorcycles. The rumour finally turned into reality when LiveWire revealed the Del Mar, an electric motorcycle that is lighter and suitable for ‘off-road’ rides.

In honour of the launch of the new platform, LiveWire introduced the limited edition Del Mar which comes with special colors and rims in addition to naming the new model as the Del Mar Launch Edition.

Limited to 100 units, this Del Mar Launch Edition comes in two colour options, Comet Indigo and Jasper Gray with the serial number also painted on the side of the tank.

Interestingly, 18 minutes after the launch, all 100 units were already sold.

LiveWire Del Mar unveiled as Harley's more affordable electric motorcycle

As previously reported, LiveWire Del Mar is developed from the S2 Arrow platform which includes batteries, motors, chargers and control systems. The platform is also expected to create more electric models in the future.

According to the info, this LiveWire Del Mar offers 80hp and weighs around 199kg in addition to being able to reach a distance of more than 160km/h for each full charge.
