Speculations are that the new Honda bike is based on the Honda Hornet 2.0.

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India have revealed a teaser for their upcoming new motorcycle which will launch in India this August 19. The teaser is brief but manages to give away several hints that would help viewers determine the type of bike it will be.

The teaser showcases urban riding conditions and the rider gazing at the twisty section of the road. The shots of the rider on the motorcycle show the riding ergonomics of the rider. This shows that the bike is likely to be an adventure motorcycle.

According to News 18, several hints have indicated that the bike will be based on the Hornet 2.0. In the 7 second mark, viewers can get a clear view of the headlamps, rearview mirrors and it has knuckle guards with built-in indicators. A glimpse at the current Honda lineup would easily suggest that the shape of the indicator, headlamps, and rearview mirrors are all identical to the Honda Hornet 2.0.

Not to mention, the last shot showing the riders sitting at the bonfire next to the parked motorcycles would strengthen the speculation of this bike being based on the Hornet 2.0. The golden upside-down suspension gives it away as the Hornet 2.0 comes with an identical front suspension setup and it was its USP too.

The Honda Hornet 2.0 is a sporty street naked motorcycle. It is great in handling capabilities on perfectly paved roads. The teaser shows the bike in action on all roads and not one shot of it doing anything remotely off-road.

In addition, it can be seen that the new motorcycle has identical split grab handles just like the Hornet 2.0. However, the bike will get a single seat and not a split seat setup. Apart from that, it is likely that the bike will be sold under Honda Red Wing or the regular Honda dealership network. The Japanese manufacturer made no mention of its premium motorcycle dealer BigWing.
