2021 is an extremely successful year for the off-road vehicle line from Yamaha . At the AMA 450SX race, Aaron Plessinger, Malcolm Stewart, and Dylan Ferrandis finished fifth, sixth, and seventh, respectively. In the meantime, Colt Nichols and Justin Cooper have dominated the 250SX races.

And to prepare for a new Supercross season, the Blue team has embarked on refining and upgrading a series of off-road version 2022.

CHANGES ON YZ250F, YZ450F

YZ250F

The YZ250F has been Yamaha’s most successful model in the last year. The model comes with a new rear rim with a width of 2.15 inches in this variant. A set of Dunlop Geomax MX33 tyres with a larger size is also included to help with traction. Additionally, this new tyres enhances the driver’s ability to handle grip and reduces shocks.

The KYB suspension has been updated to better balance the motocrosser’s stability and agility.

In addition, the Green team is also quite focused on optimizing the weight of the vehicle. The YZ250F is equipped with a new lightweight gear and chain.

The YZ250F will cost $ 8,499 for the standard version. While the Monster Energy Yamaha Racing Edition will cost $8,699.

Similar to the younger brother, the YZ450F version is also greatly improved in terms of weight. From the rear hub, gears to the chain, the weight is significantly reduced compared to the previous version. The YZ450F will be priced at $9,599 and $9,799 for the regular version and the Monster Energy Yamaha Racing Edition, respectively.

Yamaha YZ450FX

Building on the prototype YZ250F, the YZ250FX has been tweaked to be the ultimate enduro model. The models are equipped with a light-weight brake system with increased friction. Combined with that is the larger front brake piston.

YZ250FX uses a large capacity muffler, which helps to increase vehicle performance at high rpm.

YZF250FX has an expected selling price of US$8,799, YZF450FX will cost US$9,899.
