The cancellation of the MotoGP Thai GP was announced recently taking another round off the calendar. Although alternatives are being considered, it is uncertain which ones will be implemented or when they will be implemented.

As a result, there is currently space in the calendar. After the summer break, on the weekends of the 8th and 15th of August, there are tests at the Red Bull Ring: the Styrian GP and the Austrian GP. Before the GP of the Americas in Austin on the weekend of October 3rd, everything goes according to plan.

The Thai GP will take place on October 17th, leaving three weeks between the North American round and the Malaysian GP (24th of October).  Same with the end of the season, with the Algarve GP on November 7 and the Valencia GP a week later.

With this schedule, there is room for manoeuvre to participate in a second race at Misano or Aragon in September, creating a three-race sequence.   Instead, it’s possible that Austin will double up to make up for the Thai GP’s absence, with races on October 3rd and 10th on the calendar.

For now, the weekend of October 17th, which was set for the GP in Buriram, remains unfilled, therefore the MotoGP calendar for the second part of the season is aligned as shown below.

6-8 August: Styrian GP, Red Bull Ring (Spielberg, Austria)
13-15 August: Austrian GP, Red Bull Ring (Spielberg, Austria)
27-29 August: Great Britain GP, Silverstone Circuit (Silverstone, United Kingdom)
September 10-12: Aragon GP, MotorLand Aragón (Alcañiz, Spain)
September 17-19: San Marino and Rimini Riviera GP, Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli (Misano Adriatico, Italy)
October 1-3: GP of the Americas, Circuit of the Americas (Austin/Texas, USA)
October 22-24: Malaysia GP, Sepang International Circuit (Sepang, Malaysia)
November 5-7: Algarve GP , Autódromo Internacional do Algarve (Portimão, Portugal)
12-14 November: GP of the Valencian Community, Ricardo Tormo Circuit (Valencia, Spain)
