P.T. Astra Honda Motor just launched the updated 2021 Honda CBR150R in Indonesia. Compared to the Thailand-spec 2021 Honda CBR150R which was launched last month, the new CBR150R in Indonesia gets numerous updates in terms of both design and tech.

Starting with the design, the updated 2021 Honda CBR150R in Indonesia gets aesthetic styling of its quarter-litre sibling, the CBR250RR. The model gets a twin-bean LED headlamp setup, sharp fairings design and a narrow sporty tail section. Compared to the previous iteration, the 2021 Honda CBR150R looks a lot aggressive and sporty.

On the inside, the instrument cluster has also been updated. Besides the usual information, the new cluster now includes a gear position indicator and a fuel consumption dial as well.

In the case of the engine, powered by a water-cooled, 149.16cc, 4-stroke DOHC engine, mated to a 6-speed gearbox, the 2021 Honda CBR150R pushes 16.89hp @ 9,000 rpm and a peak torque of 14.4 Nm @ 7,000 rpm. In terms of powertrain updates, the 2021 model now gets assist and slipper clutch as standard.

Moving onto the suspension, the Indonesia-spec 2021 Honda CBR150R features gold anodised Showa’s separate function big-piston (SFF-BP) inverted front forks and  pro-link rear mono-shock.

Braking duties are taken care of by a single hydraulic disc at the front and rear. Speaking of the brakes, P.T Astra Honda Motor Indonesia offers the 2021 Honda CBR150R with and without ABS.

Dimension wise, the CBR150R measures 1,983 x 700mmx 1,077 mm (LXWXH) and rolls in with a seat height of 782mm. Fuel is contained in a 12-litre tank and the Non-ABS CBR150R weighs 2kg lighter at 137 kg compared to ABS variant which weighs 139 kg.

2021 Honda CBR150R Price and Options

The pricing of the non- ABS Honda CBR150R starts at 35.9 Million Indonesian Rupiah (MYR 10,288). On the other hand, the ABS variant rolls in with a starting price of 39.9 Million Indonesian Rupiah (MYR 11,434).

So far the popular choice of sub-160cc fully faired motorcycle in the Malaysian market is the Yamaha YZF-R15. If BSH decides to bring the Honda CBR150R to Malaysia, things might actually take a turn here. That being said, as of now BSH hasn’t announced anything yet so let’s wait and see what BSH is planning on doing.
