In terms of design, the new generation of NMAX has been well revised. New for this generation, the Yamaha NMAX gets a new 6-bulb LED headlamp unit with 4 low beam bulbs and 2 high beam bulbs at the bottom. Besides this, the 2021 Yamaha NMAX comes with a larger rectangular LCD meter panel and an instrument linked button on the left side of the handlebar to toggle through the information that’s being presented on the LCD display.

At the rear, the tail section has been revised too. The new 2021 NMAX get a newly designed LED taillight which uses 4 LED stripes on each side.

In the case of the engine, the new NMAX is powered by a Blue Core liquid-cooled SOHC 155CC single-cylinder engine. Mated to a CVT gearbox, the 2021 Yamaha NMAX pushes 15.1 hp @ 8,000 rpm and 13.9 Nm of peak torque at 6,000 rpm. The updated model is also equipped with Stop & Start System which shuts the engine off automatically when the scooter comes to rest or idling at a traffic light to save fuel. This system can be turned on and off via the handlebar integrated switch. Speaking of fuel, the NMAX comes with a large 7.1 L fuel tank.

On the creature comfort side, the under-seat storage is 23.3L in size and can store full-face XL sized helmet. The new 2021 Yamaha NMAX also feature a 12v electric socket to charge electronic devices such as smartphones on the move.
