The season finale marked the closing of the 2020 FIM MotoGP World Championship and it was Red Bull KTM Tech3’s Miguel Oliveira that made a stellar finish in his home race. The Portuguese dominated the Gran Premio MEO de Portugal with flare as he bagged a stunning pole position on Saturday. As the lights went out, hope did not dim for Oliveira as he managed to lead the race and maintained his impressive momentum. The triumph marks Oliveira’s second premier class win, Tech 3’s second win, another impressive victory for KTM in 2020 and in the first Portuguese Grand Prix since 2012, and the first-ever held at Portimão. The perfect way to cap the weekend!

The 2020 season has been through ups and downs since the pandemic but with high spirits and determination, the season pulled through with greatness. The season saw unprecedented arrangement but it proved to be a success. Congratulations to Joan Mir on becoming the 2020 World Champion. Till we meet in the paddock again!

Miguel Oliveira (Red Bull KTM Tech3)- As It Happened

“It’s unreal. You know you dream about these kinds of races and to finally be able to do it, it’s incredible. I have no words to describe my gratitude to all the people, the crowd watching at home who couldn’t be here today. Thank you! And to my team, this is my farewell to Tech 3 but it’s a great day, that I could give them this victory again, for Tech 3 and KTM, it’s a huge accomplishment for me. It’s extra special because my family didn’t get to see my first win live and now they get to see it, they’re here and it’s an incredible day for me. Very emotional, and just glad to finish the season on a high and with a strong performance like today.”
