The launch of 2021 Honda Winner X Vietnam (aka Honda RS150R in Malaysia) is set for 22nd August 2020. A sign for a more updated Honda RS150R V3 for 2021?

Honda introduced the Honda Winner X for Vietnam back in Aprila 2016. Following this the same bike was launched in Malaysia as the Honda RS150R and in Indonesia as the Honda Supra GTR. A few years earlier the Honda Winner X in Vietnam went through a major update. This update included more aggressive bodywork, ABS, LED headlamp and a full digital instrument cluster.

With the latest tease on Honda Vietnam’s youtube channel; the launch of an updated Honda Winner X is set for 22nd of August 2020. As the video shows only a silhouette of the bike, some reports suggested it could be a newer Honda Vario but considering the shape of the bike it matches the design charateristics of the Winner X than the Vario.

As it’s only an announcement for the launch, there isn’t any information on the specifications and updates the model would receieve.

However, according to some seculations; the new model would receieve smart-key system, front and rear ABS alongside minor design and engine updates. Well, it sounds promising as the direct competitor, Yamaha Exicter RC / Y15ZR appear to get similar features and upgrades for the upcoming alteration (from spy shots).

Hope for a massive update on the upcoming Honda RS150R V3 in Malaysia?

So far the RS150R in Malaysia receieved only minor updates. In the case of the Honda RS150R in Malaysia, before the launch of the RS150R V2 earlier this year, we all thought the model would receieve a massive refresh like the Winner X, however, that didn’t happen.2020 Honda RS150R V2

The latest announcement by Honda Vietnam on the arrival of the 2020 Honda Winner X, it gives us hope to see a more updated RS150R. Well, yes, most of the folks in Malaysia perfer the styling of what we get but seeing the Winner X getting more refined  yearly, it somewhat gives us hope for some updates on the upcoming Honda RS150R for next year or next generation at least. Looking at how the Winner X is evolving, we beleive the next-gen Honda RS150R for Malaysia would soon receieve ABS, keyless entry and a few updates on the engine and bodywork too.
