Cooper Webb delivered a stellar performance during this weekend’s race in Florida.
Red Bull KTM Factory Racing rider Cooper Webb managed to finish his run at second place on Saturday at Round 7 of the AMA Supercross Championship in Tampa, Florida.
After securing victory last weekend, Webb looked forward to repeating his success in the sands of Tampa. He maintained the momentum and clinched fourth place in the qualifying rounds earlier in the day. Webb managed to ride his KTM 450 SX-F Factory Edition to a great outcome in Heat 1. He came in the top four and slowly went up and secured a top-three finish.
During the main event, Webb started off at top-five and made his way upwards on lap three. He then continued his performance and was determined to end his run at the top. Webb was able to latch onto a mistake by the rider ahead to claim second place by the end of the race.
Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/KTM Factory Racing’s Brian Moreau was supposed to make his 250SX East debut on Saturday. Despite that, he suffered an unfortunate crash during the day’s free practice. He was then excluded for the remainder of the evening.
The following race will be taking place in Arlington, Texas, this weekend on February 22.
Cooper Webb (Red Bull KTM)- As It Happened
“It was tricky all day and it was easy to make mistakes out there. I’m happy with a second, obviously, I wanted to be up there for that win tonight, I felt great all day but it’s a good night overall. I felt like I rode good and I just need to be better on my starts,” says Webb as quoted from KTM Factory Racing.
