The new Ducati Streetfighter V4 is better than ever with its latest details!
Italian top gun Ducati has just unveiled its latest Streetfighter V4 for the year 2020. The new bike brings things up a notch with its impressive bodywork and mechanics as it dons a much more edgy look without fairings, a high handlebar, the 208 HP of the Desmosedici Stradale, and the addition of wings in a biplane configuration. It is installed to tame its power without losing agility.
The Ducati Streetfighter V4 is definitely not your average motorcycle. It gives riders the high adrenaline rush and makes every trip on the road feel like the best journey they have ever had. It comes with a fairly aggressive exterior with interiors which boasts a new concept. The design is rather minimal and is similar to the Panigale V4. The front of the bike resembles the crazy grin of the Joker. The bike also comes with the same V-shaped DRL, an undeniable Ducati hallmark.
DUCATI STREETFIGHTER V4: AERODYNAMICS
Ducati Corse specialists have come together to create the biplane with the help of Ducati Style Centre. The biplane offers maximum stability at high speed and when braking, it reduces wheel-up during acceleration and minimises electronic control of the suspension set-up. Using CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) simulation, they developed the aerodynamics to come up with the best design. The biplane configuration reduces lateral protrusion as much as possible.
These aerodynamic appendages generate 28 kg of downforce at 270 kph (20 kg on the front wheel, 8 kg on the rear). The wings also help draw heat off the engine by increasing water and oil radiator throughflow speeds by 2% and 10% respectively.
DUCATI STREETFIGHTER V4: DESMOSEDICI STRADALE ENGINE
The Ducati Streetfighter V4 2020 is powered by a Front Frame and Desmosedici Stradale engine. It is partially screened by superstructures that have been cut to a bare minimum. A high and wide bar has replaced the clip-on handlebars, with a moderated footpeg position. Riders are able to tackle the bike in a sporty position.
The 1103 cm3 Desmosedici engine is capable of producing 208 hp (153 kW) at 12,750 rpm. It is an unrivalled power level within the naked segment. Maximum torque of the 90° V4 is 123 Nm (12.5 kgm) at 11,500 rpm. The final ratio is shorter than that of the Panigale V4 but delivers a wheel torque higher of +10%. This allows for an immediate response to the throttle command.
The latest-generation electronics package on the Streetfighter V4 revolves around a 6-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (6D IMU). This instantly detects the bike’s roll, yaw and pitch angles.
The electronics package has controls for every part of the ride. It includes ABS Cornering EVO, Engine Brake Control (EBC) EVO. It also has specific Ducati electronics such as the Traction Control EVO 2, Slide Control, Wheelie Control EVO, Power Launch, Quick Shift up/down EVO 2 and Electronic Suspension EVO.
