Boon Siew Honda Sdn. Bhd has just debuted its all-new CBR650R and CB650R in Malaysia at the Malaysia Autoshow on 11 April 2019. The models will be up for viewing at the Honda Motorcycle booth. It will commence from 11 April until 14 April at MAEPS, Serdang. “In 2018, Boon Siew Honda had successfully launched a total of 7 units of high-performance big bikes in Malaysia and we are happy to have received an overwhelming response from the market. And, we shall also look into the middleweight segment demand from the market as well. Therefore, today we launch the All-New CBR650R & All New CB650R,” states Mr Keiichi Yasuda, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Boon Siew Honda Sdn. Bhd.

The Honda CBR650R takes inspiration from the CBR1000RR Fireblade with its sharp and aggressive lines alongside the extended side fairings. It features a super-short rear section and narrow dual LED headlights. It is much lighter than the CBR650F by 6kg. The new model also has a new sportier riding position. This is due to the repositioning of the handlebars that are now 30mm forward and the footpegs are now higher. The CBR650R is powered by a four-cylinder engine that revs 1,000rpm higher, producing 5% more top end power. It is capable of delivering a peak output of 70kW arriving at 12,000rpm. It has new and advanced specifications such as an adjustable 41mm SHOWA, Separate Fork Function (SFF), Upside-down forks, radial-mount four-piston front brake callipers, Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) and assist/slipper clutch. The CBR650R is also equipped with other practical features such as full LED lighting and new LCD instruments display, which now includes a Gear Position and Shift-Up Indicator, as well as an emergency stop signal for safety purpose. The All-New Honda CBR650R will be available in a selection of two colour options. It comes Grand Prix Red and Mat Gun Powder Black Metallic. It carries a price tag of RM 45,499.00.

As for the CB650R, the ‘Neo Sports Cafe’ is part of the middleweight sector. Its styling conflates modern concepts and minimalism. It draws inspiration from café racer and super-compact “trapezoid’ form to eye-catching effect. The in-line four-cylinder engine is fully on display, and the signature round headlight and sculpted fuel tank underline the ‘Neo Sports Café’ family feel. The CB650R comes with the same specification with CBR650R. For the 649cc engine, a revised intake and exhaust, plus new cam timing and compression ratios bring a 5% peak power boost and smoother, stronger torque delivery through the mid-range. The CB650R features advanced specifications such as adjustable 41mm SHOWA Separate Fork Function (SFF), Upside-down forks, radial-mount four-piston front brake callipers, Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) and assist/slipper clutch. The result is a desirable naked middleweight with a unique combination of looks, performance and top-line specifications. The All-New Honda CB650R will be available in a selection of two colour options namely the Candy Chromosphere Red and Graphite Black.
