The Ducati Riding Academy gets a serious update for 2019

The Ducati Riding Academy gets a serious update for 2019

Ducati isn’t all about building motorcycles for anyone to buy and ride or compete in the best championships like MotoGP and World Superbike. The Italian brand is also about a true 360 experience, and that experience has gone up a notch this year with Ducati announcing some serious updates to its Ducati Riding Academy.

The Ducati Riding Academy started in 2003 with over 10.000 riders participating in riding courses, but over the years, these special events organized by the brand of Borgo Panigale have evolved into something truly fantastic to any rider. For 2019, the Ducati Riding Academy has a big update: The DRE Road Academy.

This DRE Road Academy happens in the Modena racetrack, and it’s a riding course that is perfect to any rider with any kind of experience on motorcycles. With the goal to let the students understand how to get in full control of their Ducati, the DRE Road Academy will let the participant ride some of the new Ducati models, on a closed course, and as the participant increases the level, Ducati will give the keys to more powerful bikes.

The second option available is intended for those looking at improving their riding skills to the limit. The DRE Racetrack lets the participant ride around one famous racetrack (for now it’s the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli that shows up in the calendar) and you can choose between four different types of track experience: Track Warm Up, for those that never visited a racetrack on a motorcycle, the Track Evo and Track Master experiences to improve the lap times and riding techniques, while the best experience on track is the Champs Academy where Ducati will let you learn from some of the best riders that competed with the Italian machines.

But if you’re not into riding on asphalt, then Ducati also offers you the chance to improve your riding skills off-road. The DRE Enduro Academy will get you on the Multistrada 1260 Enduro and the new Multistrada 950 and test your riding techniques on different surfaces, with an instructor’s team led by Beppe Gualini. This course is held at the beautiful Castello di Nipozzano in Tuscany.

Last but not least, the DRE Travel experience is also updated for this year. The Dream Tour will let you ride your favorite Ducati model on the hills and corners of Tuscany, purely on asphalt roads and with five days’ duration, while the Adventure Tour lasts four days and you will be able to enjoy the off-road performance of the Multistrada 1260 Enduro and the Multistrada 950.

With more than ten years as a motorcycle journalist, i enjoy everything that has to do with two-wheels. I'm a fan of sport bikes and i prefer riding them on a racetrack, but give me a road filled with corners and good asphalt and i'll be there to have some fun!
