MotoGP season has already started with the first of three days of official tests in Sepang, and although there are some riders recovering from injuries, and others, like Jorge Lorenzo, who aren’t there testing at all, there’s one MotoGP rider that shows what these guys are made of: Cal Crutchlow.
The LCR Honda rider suffered a nasty crash last season in Australia, back in October last year. The result of that crash was that Crutchlow destroyed his right ankle, the ankle was broken in 17 places, the bones were completely shattered, and the surgery he did means he now has around 1 kg of metal pins and plates on his right leg!
The MRI scan on Cal Crutchlow’s right leg it’s not for the faint of heart, and clearly shows that MotoGP riders are something else.
Even with all this, Cal Crutchlow still managed to test today at Sepang, managing the 14th best lap time, just a little over one second off the pace set by Marc Marquez.
