Honda broke the cover of five new bikes for 2019

Honda broke the cover of five new bikes for 2019

November 14, 2018

Honda, the world biggest motorcycle manufacturer, has unveiled five new motorcycles at the latest EICMA Milan motorcycle show held last week at the Italian city. The Japanese brand opted to fortify its presence in the mid-sized segment, and at the same time to update some of its most popular models.

The first of the set is the brand-new CB650R.

This naked features the design cues of the “Neo Sports Café” style Honda brought last year to the roads with the CB1000R, CB300R and CB125R. The retro look will surely be to the likes of many riders that want the classic image mixed with new chassis elements for better ride quality.

Honda CB650R

Minimalistic in appearance, the CB650R wants you to see the inline four-cylinder engine as its main attraction, but there are other details that will capture your attention like the gold painted wheels, the round headlight with daytime LED or the 41 mm Showa SFF front fork. Riders of the CB650R will also get ABS and HSTC traction control system.

But Honda didn’t stop there, and the CB650R platform will also be used on a sportier model, the also new CBR650R.

Honda CBR650R

Replacing the old CBR650F, the CBR650R offers a better sport riding handling with the rider sitting more like in a true sportbike. The handlebar has been replaced by a set of clip-ons that are positioned 30 mm towards the front of the bike, while the foot pegs are higher and further to the back. With a design that mimics the one from CBR1000RR Fireblade, the mid-sized sportbike sees the engine rev a little higher, 1000 rpm more than previously, and the power gets a 5% bump.

And if the 650 models are brand-new, the rest of the mid-sized model range also gets an update from Honda!

Honda CB500X

The CB500F, CB500R and CB500X, all of them sharing the same chassis and parallel twin-cylinder 500 cc engine, see the power getting a mild increase between 3000 and 7000 rpm. All of them also get updated design to make them look fresh to the eyes of riders, slipper clutch, full LED lighting, a redesigned dashboard with more info and to finish up in style, a new silencer with double exit for a deeper sound.

Honda CB500F

With the updated mid-sized range, Honda now features many options for riders that are stepping up in the two wheels world. Roadster, adventure and sport models to appeal to anyone looking for a new Honda in 2019.

With more than ten years as a motorcycle journalist, i enjoy everything that has to do with two-wheels. I'm a fan of sport bikes and i prefer riding them on a racetrack, but give me a road filled with corners and good asphalt and i'll be there to have some fun!
