While Ana Carrasco inserted her name into the history books by winning the World SuperSport300 title, Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki Racing Team) has also done himself the favor of getting a record fourth consecutive World Superbike title!
Rea is now the second man ever to have four WSBK championships, the other one being Carl Fogarty, but the Northern Irishman has done it in four years in a row.
The Kawasaki rider secured the championship at Race 1 in Magny-Cours, on Saturday, by winning the race, his seventh win in a row, and taking advantage of his main rival Chaz Davies (Aruba.it Ducati) only finishing fifth, which made Rea inaccessible to Davies on the top of the leaderboard.
But Jonathan Rea not only won Race 1, but he also made sure to show why he is now considered one of the best, if not the best rider ever at World Superbike level, by also winning Race 2 that was held today at the French racetrack, and now recording 68 wins under his name.
