British rider Chaz Davies suffered a crash while training supermoto at the Motorland racetrack, and as a result of that crash, the Aruba.it Ducati rider had to be transported to a nearby hospital where after some exams he was diagnosed with a new collarbone fracture.
Although Davies also suffered a big blow to the head, the most worrying injury is the small fracture in the right collarbone, the same bone he also fractured in July, because there’s still the chance he will need to have a surgery in the next few days in order to heal the injury in the best way possible.
Chaz Davies, second in the World Superbike championship standings 92 points behind leader Jonathan Rea, still has almost two weeks to be fit to race in Portimao (15 and 16 September), but this certainly isn’t the best way to start the final stretch of the season.
