Next weekend San Marino GP in Misano will be interesting, but before the action on track started, the MotoGP paddock and fans all around the world were already talking about what happened at the pre-GP press conference.
With Marc Marquez and Valentino Rossi side by side behind the table, and after the Spanish and the Italian riders said they had no problem with each other, a journalist asked MotoGP champion and Honda rider if he would be ready to shake the hand of Rossi.
Marquez started by saying he had no problem with that and followed his words by offering a handshake. But Rossi stood still, with his arms crossed, and smiled back while shaking his head from side to side.
This awkward moment caused some tension during the press conference, but Marquez took it with a smile.
The relationship between two of the biggest MotoGP stars isn’t the best, and it all starter with that infamous “Sepang Clash” incident in 2015. 2016 season presented no problems between the two, but early this season, in Argentina, Marc Marquez clashed with Valentino Rossi again, and the two have been at war again.
Only time will tell how this friction between the Honda and the Yamaha rider will end, but for now, there seems to be a fragile truce that may be broken on track – or off track – at any time.
