MotoGP – Marquez confirms we won’t see a Marquez on a Yamaha

MotoGP – Marquez confirms we won’t see a Marquez on a Yamaha

The last few hours have been very interesting for MotoGP fans, all because Marc Marquez, reigning MotoGP champion, gave an interview to Italian TV channel Sky, in which he speaks about a lot of things and especially a talk he had with Yamaha Racing director, Lin Jarvis.

According to Marquez, we won’t see a Marquez brother – he or Alex Marquez – on a Yamaha MotoGP prototype anytime soon. Asked by Sky if Alex Marquez could have signed a contract with SIC Yamaha satellite team for next season, Marc says that that wasn’t an option

“Alex with Yamaha? Lin Jarvis told me there was no chance to see a Marquez on a Yamaha. HE told me that also in 2016. And we respect and understand. When you arrive at MotoGP you need to be ready, and my brother still hasn’t done what he needs in Moto2. There’s no hurry. If you win 10 races, then you’ll have the doors open for you. It’s like that, you need to talk on the track and not outside the track”.

Marc Marquez also took the opportunity to speak about his Ducati rivals, Andrea Dovizioso and Jorge Lorenzo, who he considers to be a very tough opponent now that Lorenzo has found the way to be fast with the Ducati prototype.

As for Valentino Rossi, Marquez was asked if he would return to Rossi’s MotoRanch, and the Spanish rider had this to say: “Never say never, but it’s very hard to happen. It was a very good day where I learned a lot. The Ranch is an incredible place. I had fun and I remember that day. Will he invite me tomorrow? He won’t!”.

With more than ten years as a motorcycle journalist, i enjoy everything that has to do with two-wheels. I'm a fan of sport bikes and i prefer riding them on a racetrack, but give me a road filled with corners and good asphalt and i'll be there to have some fun!
