Moto2 – MV Agusta F2 is the name of the bike the Italian brand will race in 2019

MV Agusta will make a return to the Grand Prix World Championship next season, entering a team in the Moto2 class, in partnership with the Forward Racing team. Until now we only saw the bike in drawings, but today the Italian manufacturer showed the final version of the race bike.

Named MV Agusta F2, this bike is equipped with a tubular chassis and aluminium reinforcements, a solution similar to the one used by KTM, and something that is completely different from the Kalex chassis, a double beam structure.

This new chassis has been developed by MV Agusta inside the Castiglioni Research Centre (CRC), with Brian Gillen being the responsible for the team of engineers that created the bike. MV Agusta also had the help of chassis maker Suter.

A special design note is the ram-air hole in the fairing, with a design that mimics the shape of the headlight of the MV Agusta sportbikes we see on the road like the F3 and F4.

As will happen with all the teams, the MV Agusta F2 will need to use a Triumph 765 cc triple-cylinder engine, and the next step in the development of the F2 Moto2 race bike is taking her to the track so that the team can further evolve the chassis.

As for the riders, neither MV Agusta or the Forward Racing Team have revealed the names of the two riders expected to be part of this return of the iconic Italian brand to GP racing in 2019.
