The Suzuki GSX700T is seen again in new patent leak!

The Suzuki GSX700T is seen again in new patent leak!

Notice all the details Suzuki included in the latest GSX700T patent file!

Suzuki has been hard at work developing the Recursion concept bike we’ve seen in 2013 into a full production model that, according to sources, will be introduced to the market later this year. Known now as the GSX700T, this new Suzuki model will use a turbo to boost power without the need for a big engine.

The GXS700T has been seen in the last couple of years in leaked patent files, and this time around it’s no different. But what’s different is the level of details Suzuki has included in the patent, and that’s a clear sign that the Hamamatsu factory is close to have the bike ready!

Even though the fairings are not detailed, with Suzuki effectively using a generic design, other details stand out from the drawing included in the new patent.

First, it’s confirmed the GSX700T will use a single-sided swingarm, the frame has changed from the original aluminium double-beam to a trellis structure and for example Suzuki already chosen to go with different design for the wheels, with the front wheel having six spokes and the back wheel showing a ten spoke design.

The bike itself is evolving from a more touring orientated bike to a more sport bike, with narrower handlebars and high mounting points to fix the footpegs.

As for the engine, we already know that it will be a parallel twin with 700 cc, that with the help of a turbo installed on top of the airbox, will allow this engine, dubbed the “EX7”, to reach a power of near to 150 hp.

With all these patent files being leaked, and with the overall design evolving every time we see her, it’s just a matter of waiting a few more months before we can finally see the new Suzuki GSX700T and its turbo engine in full production form, ready to light up the roads in 2019.

With more than ten years as a motorcycle journalist, i enjoy everything that has to do with two-wheels. I'm a fan of sport bikes and i prefer riding them on a racetrack, but give me a road filled with corners and good asphalt and i'll be there to have some fun!
