Next Sunday, during the MotoGP race in Circuito Jerez – Angel Nieto, Valentino Rossi will become the first rider in history to complete the race distance equivalent to a lap around the world!
This incredible milestone will happen when Rossi reaches the 15th lap of the MotoGP race, completing a career total of 40.075 km, the same exact distance of the equatorial circumference of Earth.
The Tavullia rider will achieve this feat after 22 full seasons competing at the World Championship, having made his debut in 1996 with 17 years of age.
Since then, Valentino Rossi disputed a total of 369 Grand Prix and making 8715 race laps. He accumulated 115 victories, 228 podiums, 64 “pole positions” and won 9 world titles.
This Spanish racetrack is a happy hunting ground for the Movistar Yamaha rider, since he already has a total of 7 race victories in MotoGP in Jerez, and although he hasn’t had the best start of the season, Rossi believes that this weekend he can fight for the win.
